One of the biggest challenges in Arizona landscaping was the shade, believe it or not. Based on the type of flowers that could take the heat, even though they had water, if they did not adequate light they would not grow. So the traditional summer blooms were out of the question. At best, traditional blooms would only get green and leggy. But the best alternative was being able to use indoor plants in these locations, which would generate fun compilations of foliage and textures.

Not just flowers
One of the most interesting type of plants to design containers with is succulents. This home had a collection of traditional flowers and succulents that complemented its architecture.

Flower Beds and Pots
One of the things I looked forward to twice a year working in Arizona was the seasonal color change. In the Spring and Fall I would be able to design and implement color schemes for homes and commercial properties.
